Itinerary

Days 1-4

Cape Town

Arrive in Cape Town and be whisked from the airport by private vehicle to Ellerman House, a gracious Edwardian mansion turned boutique hotel overlooking Bantry Bay and the beckoning Atlantic Ocean.

With four days to explore the city, you can eat and shop along the V&A Waterfront, join an historic township tour, swim with penguins at Boulders Beach, visit Robben Island, or tackle Chapman’s Peak Drive, a spectacular road carved into the mountainside with dizzying drops to the ocean below.

Ellerman House itself can also arrange a number of excellent activities, including private tours of the hotel’s prized art collection, curator- and artist-led tours of Cape Town’s best galleries and museums, marine safaris along the Cape Peninsula, and vineyard visits in the stunning Cape Winelands.

4 Nights
Ellerman House

With a dramatic clifftop setting and commanding views across Bantry Bay, Ellerman House is one of Cape Town's most exclusive hotels.

Hike up Table Mountain with a private guide

Join an experienced local mountain guide for a half- or full-day hike up iconic Table Mountain. Whether you prefer a direct approach or more adventurous trails and scrambles, our flexible route options allow you to explore the mountain in the way that’s right for you. Learn about Cape Town’s rich history, Table Mountain’s geology and the unusual plants and animals that make its slopes their home. Then return via cable car, enjoying the views as you descend – your knees will thank you!

Days 5-7

Greater Kruger

Transfer to the airport to catch a light aircraft flight to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, renowned for the best Big Five game viewing in the country. Animals roam freely between the reserve and neighbouring Kruger National Park, and thanks to a long history of sensitive game viewing, the wildlife is mostly relaxed, allowing unsurpassed viewing and photography opportunities.

You’ll be met at the airstrip and transferred to Singita Boulders Lodge, a luxurious, contemporary lodge set in 45,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness. Singita shook up the safari world by bringing slick design and smart service to the wilderness nearly 20 years ago. Boulders Lodge stays true to the brand ethos, delivering glass-fronted suites with double-sided fireplaces, outdoor showers and private, heated plunge pools. Perhaps surprisingly, it’s also home to one of Africa’s most extensive wine collections, including some of the continent’s most sought-after private reserves, single-vineyard and rare-auction wines. Speak to our experts about booking a personalised wine tasting.

3 Nights
Singita Boulders Lodge

Singita Boulders Lodge is set along the banks of the Sand River in a privately owned concession within the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

Join the Sabi Sands anti-poaching canine unit

See the incredible work being done by the Sabi Sands anti-poaching canine unit. You’ll meet with a senior dog handler, learn how dogs have been trained to pursue poachers and sniff out rhino horn, and even join the team on their routine training exercises. What’s more, all funds raised are used to support the ongoing work of the canine unit.

Days 8-11

Victoria Falls

Fly from the Sabi Sands airstrip to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, where you’ll catch a connecting flight to Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. End your adventure with a three-night stay at Victoria Falls River Lodge, a luxury lodge on the banks of the Zambezi, close enough to Victoria Falls to see the spray it produces. We recommend booking one of the exclusive treehouse suites, suspended above the Zambezi on a private island. For something truly special, pick one of the two with a rooftop ‘starbed’ for sleeping out beneath the stars.

Straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world. A mile wide, its noise is greater than a million migrating wildebeest, its mists visible from 40 miles away. Activities in the area include helicopter flights above the falls themselves, white-water rafting, river cruises and game drives in Zambezi National Park.

Transfer to the airport on day 11 to fly home via Johannesburg.

3 Nights
Victoria Falls River Lodge

An all-inclusive luxury safari lodge on the banks of the mighty Zambezi, a stone's throw from Victoria Falls.
