An ultra-luxe lodge on an elevated hillside overlooking the N'wanetsi River in a wild and remote concession within Kruger National Park.
The Kruger doesn't get much better than this. The lodge is perched on the edge of a cliff in a private concession near the border with Mozambique, affording breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Inspired by the nests of eagles, its 15 open-plan glass-walled suites are romantic hideaways with all the luxuries you'd expect in a city hotel plus two enormous beds - one inside and another on a wide balcony for sleeping out beneath the stars. Two-bedroom suites have pools and river views. There's also a fully staffed four-bedroom villa that's great for larger groups. Food is first class and complemented by a surprisingly large wine cellar. Service is exceptional as it always is at Singita properties, while facilities include multiple pools overlooking the bush, a spa and fitness centre, wine store, high-end boutique and art gallery. The game viewing here is some of the best in South Africa.
Singita Lebombo Lodge lies in the south-eastern reaches of Kruger National Park, on South Africa’s border with Mozambique. Federal Air operates daily return flights from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport to Satara’s airstrip, 40 minutes from the lodge. Alternatively you can fly to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (Nelspruit) from Johannesburg, Durban or Cape Town, then take a 3 hours 30 minute road transfer to the lodge. There is also the option of flying from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to Satara airstrip.
