One of the first camps in Kenya to witness the arrival of the herds during the Great Migration.
Set close to Tanzania with views of the Serengeti, Sala’s Camp sits in the remote southern corner of the mighty Masai Mara, close to the confluence of the Sand and Keekorok rivers. As such it's among the first camps in Kenya to witness the arrival of the millions of wildebeest and zebra that cross from Tanzania to Kenya each year on the hunt for fresh pastures. The camp offers guests an authentic safari experience combined with fine cuisine and warm hospitality. Seven elegant en-suite tents accommodate up to 18 guests, with a spacious honeymoon tent perfect for couples and families. Wake up to a bush breakfast at dawn before heading off in search of the Big Five with your knowledgeable guides. Unwind in the afternoon by relaxing on your deck or in your private plunge pool. The after another exciting game drive, meet for evening drinks by the campfire, followed by a delicious open-air dinner beneath the stars.
Activities include game drives, first-class bird watching, stargazing and hot-air balloon rides above the Mara. Little adventurers are well catered for too, thanks to a dedicated programme where kids learn about the secrets of the bush.
Sala’s Camp is located in the centre of the most southern sector of the Masai Mara National Reserve. It has a unique position overlooking the Sand River towards Tanzania and the ‘Northern Corridor’ where nearly two million wildebeest migrate annually from Tanzania into Kenya, then back again. There are scheduled flights from Nairobi-Wilson Airport to the Mara which take approximately an hour or slightly less; the nearest airstrip is Keekorok. Private charters can also be arranged. The camp can also be accessed by road from Nairobi, which takes approximately 5-6 hours.
