A great mid-size camp, located in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta in the Khwai Reserve, right on the banks of a lily-covered lagoon.
Perched on the edge of a peaceful lagoon, Sable Alley is a classic tented camp, carefully built to minimise its impact on the environment. The camp comprises 12 superbly appointed tents, raised on wooden platforms, with indoor and outdoor showers and private decks overlooking the lagoon and surrounding floodplains. As with the bedrooms, the communal areas are designed to showcase the spectacular views and include a lounge and dining area that extends out to a plunge pool. Meals are served in the indoor dining area or alfresco on the deck, while days are spent on game drives, out on walking safaris (guide dependent), or on boating and mokoro excursions.
The game viewing in the area is fantastic, with lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo all found close to the camp, as well as an array of multi-coloured birdlife.
Located in the game rich Khwai Private Reserve, 200,000 hectares of pristine wilderness, sitting to the north east of the Delta, adjacent to Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. Access is via a scheduled flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Maun or from Johannesburg to Kasane, followed by a light aircraft flight Ito Sable Alley’s airstrip followed by a game drive transfer to camp.
