A wild and remote camp on the banks of the hippo-filled Zambezi River, within a private concession on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park.
Ruckomechi rests on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, remote and beautiful, with spectacular views of the broad flowing river, the adjacent woodland and the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment. Ten spacious and classically appointed tents, including two family tents, lie beneath a grove of acacia and mahogany trees. Each tent features indoor and outdoor showers, comfortable beds with crisp white linens and a private veranda. The central dining, bar, library and lounge areas face the escarpment and are connected to the rest of the camp by low-level walkways. Other notable features include an inviting firepit, a pool that overlooks a broad sweep of the river, a cushion-strewn stargazing deck, and a private bush bath on the banks of the river for romantic evenings spent in bubbles beneath the stars. Also not to be missed is a night in Ruckomechi's romantic open-air star bed, a four-poster bed on a lantern-lit platform overlooking Parachute Pan, around a 40-minute drive from camp. Other camp activities include boating, canoeing, game drives, bush walks and catch-and-release fishing.
Ruckomechi sits in a private concession on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park. There are scheduled charter flights to Mana West Airstrip, a 20-minute game drive from the camp. Private charter flights can also be arranged.
