King's Pool is a small and exclusive camp by a pretty oxbow lake in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. It offers excellent game viewing, especially during the dry winter months.
King's Pool sits above an oxbow lake in a private concession within the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. It often feels you can't move for wildlife here, especially in dry season, when game drives reveal a parade of plains game and predators. The camp was refurbished in 2019 and boasts eight large tents of thatch and canvas, all built on raised decks with private verandas, four-poster beds, private plunge pools and a separate thatched sala from which to soak up the views. Communal areas comprise a lounge, dining area and a stylish bar set on more expansive decks. There is also a pool and an open-air boma for dining beneath the stars.
Activities include day and night game drives, guided nature walks and river cruises. Guests can also view game from two strategically placed hides, including one underground where the water is at eye level, allowing you to watch animals as they lower their heads to drink.
King's Pool is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. Access is via a scheduled flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Maun or from Johannesburg to Kasane, followed by a light aircraft flight to King's Pool airstrip, followed by a 45-minute game drive from the airstrip to camp.
