An exclusive boutique hotel surrounded by 12 acres of private land in the leafy suburbs of Nairobi, where guests can interact with a friendly herd of Rothschild giraffes.
The iconic Giraffe Manor is famous for its resident herd of endangered Rothschild giraffes that wander around the beautiful grounds, sticking their long necks through the windows in the hope of a treat, especially at breakfast. The original manor dates back to the 1930s and is modelled in the style of a Scottish hunting lodge, with a stately facade and elegant interiors. In 2011, the Garden Manor was built, a smaller replica of the original. There are 12 rooms, divided between the Manor House and the Garden Manor, all of which are beautifully designed, with four-poster beds in some, antique furniture, open fireplaces and mahogany desks in others. The Karen Blixen Suite in the Manor House and the Finch Hatton Suite in the Garden Manor are ideal for families. More recent still is The Retreat, a wellness facility set just apart from the main manor. Open to Giraffe Manor guests as well as guests booked to stay at other Safari Collection properties within Kenya, if offers relaxing day rooms, a rooftop bar-garden, a vibrant restaurant serving Kenyan cuisine, two soothing treatment rooms plus a steam room, sauna and hot tub. Best of all though is its gorgeous infinity pool, where guests can swim right beside the resident giraffes.
With the international airport just 19 miles away, Giraffe Manor is the perfect place to begin or end your Kenyan safari.
