A luxury mobile camp in Savute, a remote and wild corner of Chobe National Park, famous for its elephant-hunting lions.
Savute Under Canvas is an authentic mobile camp that moves every five or six days in accordance with park rules. It offers a wonderful opportunity to explore this remote and unspoiled corner of the park, with guests accommodated comfortably in five luxury safari tents, each with a double bed and en-suite facilities, including a flush toilet and outdoor bucket shower, with steaming hot water available on request. Guest areas comprise comfortable tents for dining, pre-dinner drinks or just whiling away the time between game drives. Meals are enjoyed under open skies, adding to the romance of the camp experience.
Savute Under Canvas combines the rustic charm of camping with the comfort of personalised service. This region of the Chobe is known for the enigmatic Savute Channel, which flows and dries up intermittently, and is home to huge herds of elephant and exceptionally large numbers of lions. The annual zebra migration also passes through this area, usually around March time.
The camp is located in Savute, a remote and wild corner of Chobe National Park. Access is via a scheduled flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Maun or from Johannesburg to Kasane, followed by a light aircraft flight to Savute’s airstrip and a 30-minute game drive transfer to camp.
